XTRAINER 200 2T MY27
200 XTRAINER ENGINE
Revised exhaust and transfer ports: the reduction in transfer and exhaust port sizes results in a better power output at low RPM’s. This translates into more torque right off idle and no flat spots in the power delivery. The cylinder design enhances the low-end power with the correct compression ratio to provide just the right amount of power at the top end for those larger climbs.
Cylinder head: the combustion chamber geometry has been designed to increase combustion efficiency at low and medium revs. In particular, the very wide squish band (“long band”) generates high mixture turbulence, improving combustion speed and ignition stability even at partial loads. The compression ratio has been calibrated accordingly to maximise efficiency without compromising smoothness.
Piston: the piston profile is longer and has been developed to work in harmony with the new valve timing and the dedicated engine head. The dome-style, compared to that used on the RR models, helps to direct the transfer flows towards the upper part of the combustion chamber, limiting the loss of fresh mixture to the exhaust. The result is more efficient combustion and more responsive torque at low revs.
Reduced-load clutch springs: the use of softer springs reduces the effort required at the lever and increases progressiveness, reducing an engine stall over slow sections.
Exhaust valve: the exhaust valve timing has been revised to match the characteristics of the new engine, prioritising torque and a smooth initial response when the throttle is opened, avoiding abrupt surges of torque. XTrainer’s engines are known for their Electric-Style power delivery.
Ignition timing: the ignition timing mapping has been matched to the power delivery of the new engine. Optimised timing at low revs improves combustion chamber behaviour during the power stroke, increasing torque and making the response quick and controllable.
Exhaust: the new engine has been fitted with a dedicated exhaust system, modified from that of its bigger sister, the 300 2-stroke, but inspired by its geometry, to maintain the family feel of sound and power delivery typical of the XTrainer range.
Airbox Air Boot: to complete the engine package, a dedicated intake sleeve has also been developed. It has been designed to work with the new engine, further enhancing the power and torque needed.
200 XTRAINER CHASSIS:
Frame: The new engine is integrated into an updated frame special to the 200 engine, whilst retaining the fundamental geometry of the 300cc model. The design has been finalised to maintain the typical riding feel of the XTrainer range, ensuring correct weight balance, precision and ease of control even in the most technical situations.
Rear wheel: a 140/80 tyre and an 18 x 1.85 rim, maintaining the balance between ground contact and agility; this choice was made by Beta’s engineers to find the ideal compromise between steering response and traction.
Model’s characteristic
The new features common to the entire range include the following:
Brakes: Nissin, with 260mm disks at the front and 240mm at the rear, the braking system retains the Japanese manufacturer’s setup but now features an updated solid rear disk with a wavy profile, resulting in more modulated and progressive braking, particularly useful on slower, technical downhill sections.
Headlight and headlight mask: the new LED headlight has a beam that significantly improves upper visibility compared to the past and is housed in a new headlight mask that gives it a modern and recognisable identity.
Graphics and colours: the new, completely revised graphics introduce a brand-new red scheme with a black-painted frame, which enhances the visual impact and helps define the new character of the range.
Chain guide: the new component is more durable than before and is resistant to mud, stones or impacts in the channels, reducing the risk of the chain jumping and damaging the bike, thereby increasing safety. The reinforced structure better absorbs stresses, protects the swingarm and extends the life of the drivetrain.
Front sprocket guard: the new pinion guard has been redesigned to offer wider coverage and greater strength than the previous model, ensuring superior protection against impacts, debris and external elements during use, as well as greater safety for the rider.
Other 200 and 300 XTrainer Features:
Lightweight: One of the lightest Enduro motorcycles in the world.
Seat height: reduced by 20mm compared to the RR range, easier for most riders to touch the ground.
Forks and Rear Shock: R16V with 43mm fork tubes at the front and progressive linkage at the rear. The suspension system is fully adjustable, with front forks adjustable for preload and rebound, and a rear shock adjustable for spring preload, compression and rebound.
Beta Progressive Power Valve: like all Beta 2-stroke Enduro models, the XTrainer also features the adjustable exhaust valve, allowing the rider to fine -tune the power output to their liking.
Automatic oil injection: the use of oil injection on both the 200 and 300 models. This is located under the seat (which opens simply by pressing a button) and eliminates the need for premix.
Soft tyres: thanks to their soft compound and aggressive tread pattern, they ensure grip in all conditions, providing the rider with a smoother ride compared to a tyre with a stiffer sidewall.
Cooling fan: a fan is fitted as standard equipment on the XTrainer range to ensure the engine always maintains its optimum operating temperature, even on slower sections of the track or trail.
Electric start: precise and reliable, it is essential for restarting the vehicle in the most difficult situations.
